I thought that I would take the day to write about a nice website that I found for the ladies out there who are not and will never be a “2″ size.

As I was scoping out the latest websites that deal in satin lingerie I came across a nice colorful website in the satin panties niche which had several affiliate links that I found quite interesting. 

Here is what I noticed about the website.  First, and I have to be honest here, I did wish they had more of an assortment of satin panties.  What they had was nice but it was very limited.  They had a couple satin dresses, corsets, and bras but very few choices with satin undergarments.

What they did have seemed to confined to the colors of red and black.  Most of the panties that they do carry is lace.  No surprise here, as I stated in another article, satin panties can be hard to come across these days as far as choices go.  I was, however, impressed by the woman they did us.  Most of the Plus Size lingerie stores I see on the internet. and I have seen a lot, has extremely looking trashy photos that do not come across to me as something that would motivate me to buy anything there.

The models on here were actually nice.  In fact I think the sizes on this website actually represented what I would consider half of the woman in this country to be.  Again if you are a huge fan of satin underwear, like I hope you are, than you will be disappointed with this virtual online store.

While they do have a large supply of choices including briefs, thongs, boy shorts, hipsters, and bikinis almost all of them are either lace or cotton.  They do look really nice and I was impressed by the selection.

This plus sized lingerie store also, like most stores nowadays, has a blog called Curvy Confidential.  I raced through the blog but did find some information posts that a person with a lot of time would fine engaging.

They have a steamy stories page as well that gives scandalizing stories of plus sized woman.  I cannot tell if these stories are completely fictional or real but one did in fact grab my attention for a minute.  I saw that certain keywords were underlined and lead back to the store so it seemed more like an interesting magazine/ store front for their main store.

Overall, if you take away the small selection of satin panties, I would rate this website a 7.  It serves its niche well.  I am know that finding the right clothes, including panties and lingerie, can be difficult if you are bigger than what is considered the norm.

Fear not!  There are websites like this one to help you. (Want to make it clear that in no way am I getting paid to write about this company)

Next article we will do a review on a real “satin” website.  They are actually harder to find than people realize.  Most websites sell lace unfortunately.  The material is good but totally different as far as look and feel than satin.  The pros and cons of these two undergarments were talked about a length in the previous post.  Check it out if you have time.

If you know everything about lingerie you will know that satin panties used to be very “in” you could say.  As much as six years ago they were very in style especially in more trendier places around the world.  It has recently been replaced by lace.  Its dominates every specialty lingerie magazine or store you can think of.  

They have a similar look to the untrained eye but are quite different. And, I must say that while I am not in any way opposed to lace or silk panties I thought it prudent to give you the differences between both of them.  Know in advance that I do have a preference for satin underwear otherwise I never would have started a blog titled “satin panties” as it just would have been “panties” or “lingerie blog” or something of that sort. 

So this is coming from a person with a middle to heavy bias.

Comfort

Okay I will start with the cons with lace panties.  One of the drawbacks that I have found this that they can itch and be scratchy.  Its not unbearable but it can happen and the extent will depend of the quality of pantie you purchase.

I have found that satin and silk panties do not have this issue of itchiness.  Playing the devils advocate here I have found that satin can get very hot and uncomfortable because very little to no air can flow through and allow the skin to breath like lace panties can.  This is one of the main problems I do have with satin in being they do make it harder for your skin to breathe and especially around your crotch area and if your skin cannot breathe then your are more liable to get yeast infections or the like.  That’s why like I stated on a previous post you do not want to wear them everyday.

Jeans will also slide over satin underwear way more easily than lace panties will.  If you are a person that wears tight clothes this can be a huge buying point.  There is nothing more uncomfortable that trying to slide over some tight jeans, and you know if you are one of the types who wear them, over lace or cotton panties that start to crinkle up.

Feel

Oh course satin feels extremely silky smooth against your skin.  Lace does too but not to the extent that satin does.  When you wear satin panties you can get turned on just by walking around they are so smooth.  That “slippery” feel of them is just amazing.  Most woman who buy them just absolutely enjoy the low cut, almost bare, sensation that satin panties bring.  Lace panties feel nice, are a little lighter, breath better, but do not have that extreme bare feeling like the latter.

The Look

Wow this is a hard one.  They both can look extremely fantastic and sexy.  As far as romance goes I would have to give the nod to satin lingerie.  They can just make your body look extremely hot.  They is nothing that men like to feel or look at more than their girl in satin panties.  Nothing else can come close.  They will get more excited with them on you verses when you actually do take them off!

I will say this.  You are going to have a lot more options when it comes to lace underwear.  It is going to beat satin by 1-5.  There are a lot of really nice lace shorts that you can get many places online.  Lace panties do really look good on women with tiny rear ends as the “stretch” factor does not do them any favors.

In addition there are several people who state that satin garments looks a little more tacky more “trashy” but that is all depended the brand and what you are wearing them with.  This is a common myth that I find just to be very untrue.

Keep in mind that satin panties are the best underwear, besides wearing nothing, for avoiding pantie lines.  They will not show beneath your pants or skirt.  Lace can have the tendency to bunch up.

So which is better?  I think that by now you know what my verdict would be.  That was most likely apparent in the title.  A huge pro in the way of lace is choices and availability.  You are not going to have any problem finding a variety of them.  Not at all.  They will come in different sizes and cuts.  Satin panties are going to be a little harder to find whether it be for you or you are buying a lingerie gift for someone.

I may be biased but I cannot imagine while satin panties do not seem to be as popular as they used to.  As much as five years ago it was easy to find a pair of sexy satin panties but now it seems that it is getting harder and harder to do so.  What gives?!

As stated in an earlier post “Do You Like Wearing Satin Panties” and a post called satin panties advice this type of woman’s underwear is extremely comfortable.  How the rumor started that it was not I have no idea.

What I do know is that woman who actually wear them usually love them.  The feel of satin is sensational.  The feel of the material is sleek, smooth, and very sexy.  Its wonderful.  The great thing about satin lingerie is that is makes you feel like you are almost bare or naked even though you are in fact wearing clothing.

Lace panties, which have seemed to replaced satin underwear’s popularity in the last several years,  do come close but still doesn’t give you the same effect.

Guys love satin underwear.    And I am not talking about men who like to wear satin.  I’m talking about men who like to see their wife or girlfriend wearing satin panties.  Ask any man and he will tell you what he thinks.  Its their favorite.  Its extremely visually appealing to the senses. 

Satin panties defines the curves of woman really well giving woman a very seductive look.  If you are a woman who is naturally curvy, or full figured, satin underwear will accentuate your features.  They really will shape you quite nicely as you can see from the post about Elle McPherson’s Intimates.

I cannot pinpoint the exact year they started to fade out.  Many woman still love them.  Ask around.  I do hear a lot of negative opinions about this type of underwear..  I have heard some woman say that they developed a rash while wearing satin panties.

That can be true.  Some woman will be allergic to satin material.  But I can tell you that there will be a very small percentage of woman that are so.  Some people have also stated that satin underwear crumples easily.  I say that satin lingerie does not even come close to crumpling as easy as lace does.

Lace panties get ruined in the wash and tears or develops holes very easy.  And here is some inside information.  Jeans slides over satin panties way better than lace underwear.

Maybe they will come back in style soon.  Give it a couple years.  Satin panties never went out of style as you could say they are just harder to get.

Look in catalogues or websites and you will have to look very hard to find them.  And when you do there will not be a huge variety.  They are getting harder and harder to find.  In the past it was very easy to find string satin panties in bikini cut everywhere.  And you could find them in every color.

I remember seeing MTV breakout in 2003  and I saw 2/4 girls wearing satin.  Now it might be more like 1/5 girls wearing that type of panty.

So here is out advice.  You can still find some great satin panties you just have to look a little harder than before.  They are not carried much in stores.  You are going to have to skip the department stores or regular woman’s clothing stores if you want to find a good variety in the satin panty department.

You are going to find the best selection at places or online stores that cater to sexy and seductive underwear.  Specialty shops are going to be your best bet.  They have some great stuff and are going to have a lot of items, likes bras, that do with them.

Specialty shops, whether they are actual stores or online, will have exactly what you are looking for like bridal satin lingerie. One could play devil’s advocate and say that there is more selection than ever before if you include the internet.

While you cannot find a hige selection of satin panties in mainstream places you can however find tons of options on the “unbeaten path.”  Look around and I am sure you can find what your heart disires.

Some feel that if you are going to wear panties they may as well be comfortable.  Sure, you want to get a pair  that looks good, whether you want to show them above your low cut jean line or you just want to be ready in case a certain date goes well, but you also need comfort.

And its a common misconception that satin panties are not comfortable.  It all depends on what you buy.

Satin panties can provide close to or equal the comfort that you will have with cotton panties.  Satin feels great against your skin, they may keep you warm, and they will also make you feel like a “bombshell.” Not much else says sexy quite like a pair of satin panties…. except for  a pair of white lace panties which may come in a very close second.

Give your cotton panties a break for a while.  You might find that you like that the satin ones better.  Just be sure to pick out the right ones that are for you.  And I would recommend not going with the cheapest ones you can find either.  Cheap satin panties feel like cardboard.  Get yourself these panties and you will feel more confident and sexier than ever.
